For over 25 years, Dr. Karl Steiner has been helping game studios and others create outstanding digital experiences through research. He built player research departments for Microsoft Studios Europe, and THQ Inc., delivering player insights on over 60 shipped titles. He was an Asst. Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Texas, teaching courses in Virtual Environment Design, Human Computer Interaction and User Experience (UX) Design. He also held UX research leadership roles at Amazon, Expedia and others. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois (Chicago) focused on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Collaborative Experiences.
