In the past year, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Lyle School of Engineering has embarked on a bold faculty recruitment campaign, successfully hiring 14 new faculty members, including two department chairs and three directors for our centers and institutes. Building on this momentum, we are now expanding our search into the 2024-25 academic year, opening 10 additional roles. These include key positions such as the Chair of the Computer Science Department, Executive Directors for the Hunt Institute for Engineering & Humanity and the Caruth Institute for Engineering Education, along with several other critical roles essential for advancing our collaborative model.
As we look ahead, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Lyle remains dedicated to fostering growth and excellence through ongoing faculty recruitment in the coming years.
°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Lyle is embarking on a bold and transformative initiative to reshape our undergraduate curriculum with a strong focus on innovation, leadership, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. As part of this effort, we are excited to announce the hiring of up to five renewable-contract (non-tenure-track) faculty across our five departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Operations Research and Engineering Management, and Computer Science.
These new faculty members will play a pivotal role in pioneering an innovative experiential curriculum that will be integrated across all disciplines. This curriculum is designed to empower our students with the skills and mindset needed to excel in a rapidly changing world. One of these faculty members, depending on their experience and educational background, will be appointed as the Director of this initiative to further driving our mission to lead in educational excellence.
