Recorded during a blizzard at the in聽New York, the two-cd聽recording includes Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, Suite No. 2 in D minor, Suite No. 3 in C Major, Suite No. 4 in E-flat Major, Suite No. 5 in C minor and Suite No. 6 in C Major. It was produced by former Dallas resident Alan Bise and engineered by Bruce Egre.聽
Diaz also has performed with orchestras and on numerous other albums, including Souvenirs: Music of Paul Schoenfield (2007), American Visions (1997), Paganini: Music For Strings And Guitar (1996), The Cantorial Voice Of The 'Cello (1995), Russian Romantics for Cello and Piano (1994), Seasons Remembered - Judith Stillman & Friends (1994), and Brahms: Cello Sonatas/Dvor谩k: Silent Woods (1993).听听
was born in Santiago, Chile in 1964 and began studying the cello at the age of five.聽 Since winning the First Prize in the 1986 Naumburg International Cello Competition, D铆az has exhilarated both critics and audiences with his intense and charismatic performances. He has earned exceptional reviews for his 鈥渟trongly personal interpretive vision鈥 (The New York Times) and his 鈥渂old and imaginative鈥 playing (The Boston Globe).聽He was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, as well as a grant from the Susan W. Rose Fund for Music in 1998.
D铆az, who joined 澳门六合彩预测 in 2006,聽lives in Dallas with his wife, Julie, and sons, Peter Manuel and Gabriel Andr茅s. He is an associate professor in the Music Division of 澳门六合彩预测's聽. He plays a 1698 Matteo Goffriller Cello and a bow made by his father, Manuel D铆az.
