Student DART Information

Students registered for the current semester are auto enrolled for the DART Go Pass for provided that:

  • You are enrolled for classes for more than 24 hours. 
  • You have a current photo on your ID Card account.
  • You indicated a release of "FERPA Directory Information and Restriction" form on your my.°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â account at time of class registration. If you restricted sharing directory info it will not be processed. 
  • The phone number used is the mobile number on your MY.°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â.EDU account in the "Mobile number" field at the time of class registration and select it as prefered number. The cellphone must be a US Cellphone. (International cellphones are not compatible with DART App.) Android or Apple 7.0 or newer.
  • The email is your °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â email address on your My.°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â.edu account.
  • To download the app go to App Store or Google Play and Select DART GoPass app.
  • Orders are sent automatically to DART once a week.  Allow 2-3 weeks from class registration date for DART processing.
  • Download the DART GoPass App from your cellphone's App Store and follow the instructions below to activate using your mobile number and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â email address.

Please note: 

  • If you already have a DART GoPass account, you will need to delete it prior to activating the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Student DART GoPass.
  • DART GoPasses are not transferable and cannot be shared. They are specific to your °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â ID#,  ID photo, mobile number and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â email. Attempts to share your GoPass will result in deactivation and forfeiture of your DART GoPass. 

Incoming students registered for a future semester or academic year will not activate until semester start.

Things to remember:

  • Cellphone number or cellphone changes require a replacement order. Please email idcard@smu.edu with the old number (needed to locate the account) and new phone number as well as your °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â ID number.
  • All orders are processed by the Parking & ID Card Services Office then submitted to DART for final processing.
  • Annual DART Local Passes are good on all DART trains and buses, including FLEX and DART On-Call, Trinity Railway Express between Union Station and CentrePort/DFW Airport Station.
  • Annual DART Regional Passes are good on all DART trains and buses, including FLEX and DART On-Call, Trinity Railway Express, the T in Ft. Worth and Denton County Transportation Authority trains and buses. DART GoPasses are valid for the calendar year, January 1s t through December 31st
