Hamiz Awan
Hamiz Awan leads the quantitative research, technology development, and overall strategic growth as a Partner of Plutus21 Capital.
Hamiz and his team combine data science and technology with their investment experience to create a proprietary adoption index that is used to invest in adoption leaders and their fastest-adopted competitors. Hamiz and his team have been backing and building technology teams in AI, fintech, and blockchain since 2017.
Hamiz has more than 10 years of experience investing in a variety of alternative strategies across multiple countries. He has been a principal investor or operator in deals totaling over USD 250 million on behalf of partner and family capital.
Hamiz graduated as a Don Jackson Fellow from 澳门六合彩预测 with a degree in Finance and Statistical Science from the Alternative Asset Management Center. Hamiz is known as an expert on emerging markets, alternative investments, and entrepreneurship.
Zubair Benyacoub
Zubair is currently a Credit Associate with Fortress Investment Group, where he evaluates investment opportunities in privately negotiated investments in unitranche direct loans and structured junior capital facilities, as well as broadly syndicated loan opportunities. Prior to Fortress, he was an Associate at Stephens in their Capital Solutions Group, where he advised companies and creditors in negotiated restructurings, distressed sales, and capital structure reorganizations both in-court and out-of-court.
Zubair graduated from 澳门六合彩预测’s Cox School of Business in 2021 with a BBA Finance with Honors.
Lackland Bloom
Lackland Bloom is currently Managing Partner of Veritec Capital Partners, a private capital firm that is investing in early to mid-stage energy efficiency and decarbonization technology companies. Prior to starting Veritec, Lackland was an investment banker, advising energy companies on M&A transactions and capital raises. Over the course of his 23 year investment banking career, he served in leadership roles at J.P. Morgan, as Head of the Oil & Gas Investment Banking Group, and Deutsche Bank, as Head of the Houston Investment Banking Office. He later joined Guggenheim Partners to help build their Houston investment banking platform and ultimately their energy transition advisory practice. Over the course of his banking career, Lackland advised on ~$90 billion of M&A transactions and raised ~$30 billion of equity and debt capital for energy companies.
Over the last few years of his banking career, Lackland advised companies in various next generation energy verticals on private capital raises, which sparked his interest in starting an investment vehicle focused on investing in new energy technologies. Lackland holds a BA from 澳门六合彩预测 (1995) and MBA from the Cox School of Business at 澳门六合彩预测 (1997). He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Cox School of Business.
Petar Bozhilov
Petar is an Associate at Gauge Capital, where he is responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, executing investments, and supporting portfolio company management teams. Prior to joining Gauge, he worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at TD Cowen in Dallas, specializing in mergers and acquisitions within the business services, healthcare services, and education sectors.
Petar graduated from 澳门六合彩预测 with a BBA in Finance, specializing in Alternative Asset Management, and was a student-athlete in the university's prestigious swimming program. A native of Sofia, Bulgaria, Petar has pursued competitive swimming since age 5 and continues to challenge himself as an open water athlete, competing in swimming and triathlons.
Beyond his professional and athletic pursuits, Petar is passionate about skiing, heavy metal music, and enjoys activities like sailing, hiking, and playing the electric guitar. He thrives on challenges and believes in living life to the fullest.
Madelyn Brennan
Madelyn Brennan is a Vice President at DigitalBridge Investment Management. Madelyn is based in New York and is responsible for originating, executing, and managing new and existing investments.
Prior to joining DigitalBridge, Madelyn was a Vice President at Brookfield Asset Management, focused on infrastructure. Prior to Brookfield, she was an Investment Manager at Ardian on their secondaries and primaries platform. Earlier in her career, she spent five years in energy investment banking in Houston, TX. She began her career at J.P. Morgan as an Analyst in the Energy Investment Banking Group.
Madelyn (Nolan) Brennan graduated summa cum laude from 澳门六合彩预测, earning a B.B.A. in Finance with a specialization in Alternative Asset Management and a Minor in Economics.
John Clark
John joined the Energy Trust Partners (ETP) team in 2011 and currently serves as the Managing Partner. John has responsibility for the business development efforts at the firm, including origination and execution of new investments, and participates in the ongoing oversight of portfolio investments for ETP.
John has substantial experience in energy financing and a wide exposure in the oil and gas industry, especially in the middle market segment targeted by the Partnership. Prior to joining ETP, John was a Managing Director in Energy Banking at BNP Paribas in Houston, Texas. Previously, John served in growing capacities at several banks in Texas, providing a wide range of financial services to primarily independent oil and gas companies, both private and public. John recently served on the board of the Dallas Petroleum Club.
John has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas Christian University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from 澳门六合彩预测.
Olivia Edwards
Olivia is the Vice President of Growth Strategy at Behavioral Innovations, a private-equity backed company that provides behavioral therapy for children with autism. Prior to her current role, Olivia held Associate and Senior Associate positions for three years at Tailwater Capital, an energy infrastructure private equity firm based in Dallas. Olivia began her career in investment banking at Credit Suisse as an analyst on their Global Energy and Infrastructure team. Olivia graduated Cum Laude from 澳门六合彩预测 with dual degrees in business and economics from 澳门六合彩预测’s Cox School of Business and Dedman College of Science and Humanities, with a specialization in Alternative Asset Management.
Greta Felten
Greta is currently an Associate at Summit Partners on the Growth Products & Services team. Prior to Summit, Greta worked in the Industrials Investment Banking Group at Moelis in New York City. Previously, she co-founded and served as CEO of Empressed, a startup selling fashionable, feminine, women’s corporate swag.
Greta holds a BBA in finance with a specialization in alternative asset management from 澳门六合彩预测’s Cox School of Business. While at 澳门六合彩预测, Greta was involved with the Boulevard Investment Group, Student Senate, and the Board of Trustees Finance & Audit Committee. During her undergraduate career, Greta was named a Poets&Quants Best & Brightest Business Major in 2022 and also won a Top Negotiator award while representing 澳门六合彩预测 in negotiation competition. Greta was a Don Jackson Fellow during her senior year and continues to act as a mentor to current and former Alts.
Greta is originally from Washington, D.C. and is currently based in Boston, MA.
Kyle Goss
Kyle Goss is a Principal at Blue Owl Capital, a leading alternative investment manager with approximately $200B in assets under management. In his role, he focuses on sourcing, underwriting, executing, and managing investments within the Alternative Credit division, with a focus on corporate capital solutions and opportunistic asset purchases in technology and healthcare verticals.
Prior to joining Blue Owl, Kyle was a Principal with Atalaya Capital Management and Elm Park Capital, both predecessor firms to Blue Owl’s Alternative Credit Team. Kyle also previously held private credit investment professional roles within the Direct Lending Group at HBK Capital Management and the Special Situations Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Wachovia Securities. Kyle holds a B.A. in History and a B.B.A. in Finance from 澳门六合彩预测, where he was a Hunt Scholar.
Connor Haley
Connor Haley founded Alta Fox Capital in 2018 and is responsible for managing all aspects of the firm’s investment process and strategy. The firm has approximately $450M of assets under management for long-term focused clients. Alta Fox has a passion for deep fundamental research and has authored popular works such as “The Makings of a Multibagger.” Connor is outspoken about the importance of strong corporate governance and minority shareholder rights, has served on the Boards of both public and private companies, and has been featured in numerous financial publications including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and CNBC. Before founding Alta Fox, Connor was an Analyst at Scopia Capital Management LP (2014-2017), a New York-based long/short investment firm founded in 2001. Connor graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in government. While working towards his degree, Connor was CIO and President of the Harvard Financial Analyst Club and ran a small cap investing blog, thevariantview.com.
David Haley
David C. Haley is president emeritus of HBK Capital Management, an investment management firm based in Dallas, Texas. David joined HBK in 1994, focusing on merger arbitrage and distressed investments, and served as president of the firm from 2007 through 2021. Prior to joining HBK, David was a partner with Andrews Kurth LLP law firm, where he specialized in securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate bankruptcies and restructurings.
David is honored to serve his community in a number of leadership roles. David is a member of the board of trustees and executive committee for the Southwestern Medical Foundation, which supports the activities of The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. David serves on the board of trustees of 澳门六合彩预测, where he is a member of the investment committee and legal and government affairs committee, the Executive Committee of 澳门六合彩预测 Dedman School of Law, and the Advisory Board of the Alternative Asset Management Center at 澳门六合彩预测 Cox School of Business. David is past Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Augustine Institute, a Catholic graduate school in Denver, Colorado. He also serves on the investment committees of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) Mission Foundation and Cistercian Preparatory School. Previously, David served as chair of the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association (MFA), an organization that advocates for sound alternative investment industry practices and public policies. Additionally, he previously served as national chair of the Duke University Parents Committee and has served on various task forces and committees for his alma mater, Harvard University.
In 1986, David received his J.D. from 澳门六合彩预测 Dedman School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the law review and a Sumners Scholar. He was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023. He earned his A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College in 1983. David is a licensed attorney and a member of the State Bar of Texas. He has been married to his wife, Lori, for 38 years, and they are blessed with four children and four grandchildren.
Peyton Hall
Peyton Hall is a Principal at Centerbridge Partners in New York, focused on investing in real estate assets, companies and loans & securities. Peyton joined Centerbridge in 2019. Prior to joining Centerbridge, Peyton was an Associate in the US Real Estate Group at The Carlyle Group. Previously, he was an Analyst in the Real Estate Principal Investment Area at Goldman Sachs & Company. Peyton graduated from 澳门六合彩预测, summa cum laude, with a BBA, majoring in finance with a specialization in alternative assets.
Kevin Hess
Kevin is an investment professional with diverse experience across the finance and investment industries, including private equity investing and C-suite strategy and corporate development roles in industry. He currently has responsibility for overseeing a single-family office investment firm. Prior to joining the family office, Kevin worked for Lone Star Funds, a Dallas-based private equity firm investing out of an $8 billion fund, and he started his career working in investment banking for Credit Suisse. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and is a Partner at SVP Dallas, a local non-profit organization. He graduated from 澳门六合彩预测 in 2015 and remains active with the Hunt Scholars and Alternative Asset Management Center programs.
Jeff Jones
Jeff Jones merged the restructuring firm Blackhill Partners into Stephens Inc. in 2018 and has served as a Managing Director at Stephens since then. He has spent one-half of his 40-year investment banking career advising boards of distressed companies, creditors, and sponsors in distressed asset sales or the restructuring of their balance sheets, and the other half of his career advising public, private and family-owned companies on maximizing value.
Prior to joining Blackhill Partners, Jeff headed the special situations investment banking business of Barrier Advisors, an affiliate of Highland Capital Management. Previously, he managed the Distressed Investment Banking practice of the New York restructuring firm Loughlin Meghji + Company. Prior to this, he spent 14 years with KeyBank and its predecessor institutions, including heading Investment Banking and co-founding the bank's Restructuring Services and Consumer Groups.
He has been qualified as an expert in valuation, sale process and interest rates in courts in the Northeast, including Delaware, the Midwest, and the Southern US and has spoken on the subjects of restructurings, distressed asset sales and distressed investing at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, The University of Texas Law School Mergers & Acquisitions Institute, The Association for Investment Management and Research, The American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Turnaround Management Association.
Noteworthy engagements include serving as Chief Restructuring Officer of Black Elk Energy in the largest attempted Chapter 11 oil & gas decommissioning plan in the Gulf of Mexico, the $5 billion multinational, multi-jurisdictional reorganization of Bogota, Colombia based Pacific Exploration, and advising the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Bethlehem Steel in the plan sale of the company to W. L. Ross.
Jeff holds a BBA from the Cox School of Business at 澳门六合彩预测. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and has completed the three-year Securities Industry Institute program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, in which he received second year class honors for his paper on advising family-owned businesses.
Charles Landen
Charles Landen serves as a Vice President of Finance at Silver Hill III. Prior to joining Silver Hill in 2019, Mr. Landen served as an Associate on the investment staff at Tailwater Capital, a growth-oriented middle-market private equity firm focused exclusively on the energy industry.
Prior to joining Tailwater Capital, Charles spent two years working for Credit Suisse Group AG as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Oil & Gas Group based in Houston, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets financings for upstream, midstream and oilfield service companies.
Charles earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from 澳门六合彩预测 with specializations in Alternative Asset Management and Energy Management.
Madeline Langley
Madeline is an Analyst within the Private Credit Group at Goldman Sachs, where she is responsible for identifying credit investment opportunities primarily within the middle market, conducting research and due diligence on prospective investments, and monitoring and managing current portfolio companies. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Madeline held roles at Ernst and Young and Crestline Investors, Inc.
Madeline graduated Summa Cumme Laude from 澳门六合彩预测 with a BBA in Finance, specializing in Alternative Asset Management along with a concentration in Real Estate and a minor in Ethics. Matthew A. Leffers
Matthew A. Leffers has been associated with HBK since 2004 and is a Managing Director. Matthew serves as Chief Risk Officer, with primary responsibility for HBK’s risk management function and providing related support to the firm’s co-Chief Investment Officers. He also serves as Chair of the firm’s Risk Management Committee. From 2004 to 2018, Matthew served first as an analyst and then as a manager on HBK’s risk management team. Prior to joining HBK, he was an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers. Matthew is a CFA charterholder and received both a B.B.A. degree in Finance and a B.A. degree in Economics from 澳门六合彩预测 in 2003, where he graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a President’s Scholar.
David Luttrell
David Luttrell is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of LCM Group. He is responsible for all firm activities, including executive leadership, investment strategy and decision-making, portfolio management and construction, and team development. Previously, David was Chief Investment Officer, leading the portfolio team in the firm's due diligence process, investment management decisions, and portfolio construction. Before his role as CIO, David was a Managing Director, focusing on expanding the firm’s reach and strategy implementation in direct private equity and venture capital investing.
Prior to LCM, David served as Senior Economic Analyst and Special Assistant to President Richard Fisher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and worked in the Private Equity/Venture Capital Group at Makena Capital (Menlo Park, CA) and the Financial Institutions Group at state-owned global investment company Temasek Holdings (Singapore).
David serves on several LCM portfolio company and non-profit Boards. David is passionate about finding ways to invest in human flourishing, across for-profit business models and not-for-profit ministry work.
David earned an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He also earned an undergraduate B.S. in Economics and B.B.A. in Finance from 澳门六合彩预测. David worked at EnCap Investments and LCM Group while in college, and helped launch the EnCap Investments & LCM Group Alternative Asset Management Center (AAMC) at the Cox School of Business. Scott Luttrell
D. Scott Luttrell is Founder and Chairman of LCM Group, an investment firm he led as CEO for 36 years.
Scott founded LCM Group in 1988 out of his desire to focus on the growing opportunities in the rapidly expanding alternative investment sector. At LCM Group, Scott launched his first hedge fund, The Everest Fund, a global fixed income and foreign exchange focused investment fund that he merged with Caxton Associates in 1991. At Caxton, Scott led the firm’s global fixed income group.
Scott has served on a variety of public company, private company and charitable boards including serving for 12 years on the Board of Directors of Florida Bank Group, Inc., a Federal Reserve regulated bank holding company, for 14 years on the Board of Directors of Cbeyond, Inc. (CBEY:NASDAQ). He also served eight years on the Board of Trustees and was Chairman of the Investment Committee for the YMCA Retirement Fund, an $10 billion retirement fund serving the employees of the YMCA.
Scott has also served on the Board of East-West Ministries, HOI (Helping Others Internationally), Tampa Metropolitan YMCA, Mission Increase Foundation, Watermark CDC, and Denison Ministries. Scott currently serves on several private company Board of Directors including New Leaf Publishing Group, Indigena Holdings, and several private equity firm’s LP or advisory committees. Scott is Founder and Trustee of The Light Foundation.
Scott received his degree in Business Administration/Finance in 1977 from 澳门六合彩预测 in Dallas, Texas. In 2001, Scott attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program in Corporate Governance.
Scott and his wife have been married 47 years and have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Katharine Maxwell
Katharine joined Goldman Sachs in February 2022 as a core franchise analyst in the Dallas office, after graduating from 澳门六合彩预测 in December 2021. Katharine earned a BA in Finance with a specialization in Alternative Asset Management. She currently serves on the junior boards at Capital for Kids and the 澳门六合彩预测 Don Jackson Center.
David B. Miller
David B. Miller is Co-Founder and Partner of EnCap Investments, L.P., the leading provider of private equity capital to the oil and gas industry.
David attended 澳门六合彩预测 on a basketball scholarship and was a member of the Mustangs 1972 Southwest Conference Championship team. He received his BBA and MBA degrees in 1972 and 1973, respectively.
David has been a member of the Board of Trustees at 澳门六合彩预测 since 2008, and currently serves as its Chairman. He is a recipient of Distinguished Alumni Awards from both 澳门六合彩预测 and the Cox School of Business, and in 2009 was honored with the Silver Anniversary Mustang Award by the 澳门六合彩预测 Lettermen’s Association.
David began his business career in 1973 as an energy lender with Republic Bank of Dallas, ultimately serving as Vice President and Manager of Republic Energy Finance Corp. In 1980, David co-founded MAZE Exploration Inc., a Denver-based oil and gas company, where he served as Co-CEO until its sale in 1986. Then in 1987 he partnered with legendary Dallas oilman, Frank Pitts, in the formation of PMC Reserve Acquisition Co.
In 1988, in the midst of the severe global energy crisis, David wrote the business plan for and subsequently co-founded EnCap Investments. Since its inception, EnCap has raised 25 funds and managed $43 billion for some 350 major institutional investors. During that time period, the firm has played an instrumental role in the formation, capitalization and successful growth of some 250 independent energy companies.
In 2004, David was appointed to the National Petroleum Council, an advisory body to the Secretary of Energy. David was inducted into the Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas Hall of Fame and the Dallas Business Hall of Fame in 2014 and 2015, respectively. In 2017 he received the L. Frank Pitts Energy Leadership Award from the Maguire Energy Institute. He and the other three co-founders of EnCap were recently honored as members of the inaugural class of inductees into Oil and Gas Investor Magazine’s Hall of Fame.
David and the Miller Family Foundation support numerous charities. He serves on the Board of Directors of the George W. Bush Foundation, UT Southwestern Medical Foundation, Methodist Health System Foundation and the National Association of Basketball Coaches Foundation, and previously chaired the Boards of Goodwill Industries of Dallas and The Senior Source of Greater Dallas.
David was honored with the Volunteer Center’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, and in 2017 he was recognized by Methodist Health System Foundation with the Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award.
Santiago Núñez
Santiago Núñez has over a decade of investing experience and is a Partner at GreyLion, a private equity firm focused on investing in high-growth businesses across various sectors in the lower middle market in North America. At GreyLion, he is responsible for sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities, executing transactions and managing portfolio companies. Prior to GreyLion, Santiago was an Associate at TPG Capital, a global private equity firm, and an analyst at Lazard Frères in the Mergers & Acquisitions group. Santiago received a M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated, summa cum laude, from 澳门六合彩预测 with a BBA in Finance and a B.S. in Economics.
Scott Oman
Scott Oman is a Vice President with LKCM Headwater Investments and is responsible for originating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring transactions and working with our portfolio companies.
Prior to joining LKCM, Scott was a Senior Associate with Hudson Advisors, an affiliate with Lone Star Funds, where he was responsible for executing and managing private equity and debt investments across North America. Before Hudson, Scott was an Investment Banking Analyst with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Houston, where he focused on M&A advisory work and public capital raises within the energy industry.
Scott graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Bachelor of Arts in History from 澳门六合彩预测.
Mark Plunkett
Mark is the Managing Partner of Hilltop Opportunity Partners which is the direct investing arm of Hilltop Holdings (NYSE: HTH). HOP employs a flexible investment strategy to provide capital solutions across the capital structure for primarily lower middle market companies.
Prior to founding HOP, Mark co-founded and ran Hilliard Stret Capital, a Blackstone and Bridger seeded long/short hedge fund and served as a partner with Atlas Capital. He also worked for the Washington, D.C.-based Carlyle Group, with Hicks, Muse, Tate, and Furst in Mexico City, and with Cardinal Investment Company in Dallas. He started his career as a business analyst with McKinsey & Company. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the New York-based private equity fund Argand Capital and as lead director and co-owner of a Dallas-based bakery company and a Hong Kong-based global toy company. Mark serves on multiple portfolio company boards for HOP and serves as Chairman of Moser Energy.
Mark remains actively involved with 澳门六合彩预测 as a member of the Cox Executive Board in addition to serving on the 澳门六合彩预测 Capital Campaign Steering Committee for Cox. He has served on the Alts Board since the program’s inception. Previously he served as President of the Harvard Business Global Alumni Board as well.
Mark earned a B.B.A. and B.S. from 澳门六合彩预测, graduating magna cum laude with honors and received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School where he served as co-president of his class. He is also a U.S. Fulbright Scholar.
Kirk Rimer
As Co-President of CH Investment Partners, Kirk Rimer oversees the Partner Advisory and Operations teams. Kirk has played an integral role in helping build the firm’s investment strategy and in expanding the firm’s partner base since joining the firm in 2011. Kirk previously spent 21 years at Goldman Sachs, where he worked with individual investors and corporations, with a focus on risk management and equity investments. He served as Managing Director and Southwest Regional Manager for the Private Wealth Management Division. Prior to that, Kirk spent nine years as a naval aviator for the United States Navy. Today, Kirk sits on the Executive Board for 澳门六合彩预测’s Cox School of Business and is also an Investment Committee member of the 澳门六合彩预测 Endowment. Additionally, he is a trustee of Austin College in Sherman, Texas. Kirk received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri in 1980 and an MBA from 澳门六合彩预测’s Cox School of Business in 1989.
Scott Smetko
Scott serves as Senior Vice President of Strategy & Development at Silver Hill Energy Partners, LP, an institutional oil and gas fund manager focused on directly acquiring and operating upstream and midstream oil and gas assets. Silver Hill has over $2 billion of assets under management across two active funds, Silver Hill Energy Partners III and Silver Hill Energy Partners IV, and operates assets in North Dakota, South Texas and East Texas / North Louisiana.
Prior to joining Silver Hill in 2019, he spent 12 years on the upstream investment staff at EnCap Investments L.P., the leading provider of private equity growth capital to the independent sector of the U.S. oil and gas industry since 1988. In his most recent role as a Managing Director at EnCap, Scott was the primary relationship manager and a key board member on seven portfolio companies representing roughly $2 billion of aggregate equity commitments.

Matt Turney
Matt Turney is a Vice President at Southpaw Capital Partners and is the Chief Financial Officer of Dundon Capital Partners, a Dallas-based private investment firm founded by Tom Dundon. Matt has served as Chief Financial Officer of Dundon Capital Partners since May 2021 and is responsible for transaction execution, operations, financial reporting and monitoring portfolio companies. Since June 2021, Matt has also served as the Chief Strategy Officer of the Carolina Hurricanes, a team in the National Hockey League.
