Amanda Aland received her B.A. at the University of Southern California in Spanish in 2004 and her M.A. from 澳门六合彩预测 in 2006. She has participated in projects in both Central California and Peru. She has received the National Science Foundation Dissertation Improvement Grant and the Fulbright IIE Fellowship to carry out her doctoral work on the north coast of Peru. Her research focuses on prehispanic imperial strategies on the north coast of Peru, with particular emphasis on how the Inka Empire conquered, incorporated, and governed the preexisting Chimú Empire.
Title of Dissertation: "Imperial Adaptation of Santa Rita B, Chao Valley: Local Perspectives on Chimú and Inka Imperial Strategies on the North Coast of Peru."
