My name is Sara Beth Becker and I'm a cultural/medical anthropologist. My research interests include trans rights, systems of exchange, ethics, activism, and beliefs. I'm currently working on a pre-dissertation project related to Pride and the systems of exchange that both support and consist it.
For my dissertation, I plan on studying how transgender people living in the Rio Grande Valley transition when they can't see a doctor. I want to know why and how they do it and what that shows about the ways that we all build ourselves.
