International Film Studies Minor
A minor in international film studies develops skills in the analysis of media and visual data combined with a high degree of global knowledge and awareness. You will demonstrate to future employers your ability to analyze and harness images for the purpose of communication, and you will prove that you are a global citizen who understands the histories and cultures of countries from around the globe. The courses you will take to fulfill the minor will expose you to the richness of the global filmmaking tradition while improving your analytical writing, and they will enhance your ability to approach issues from a global, multicultural perspective. With a minor in international film studies, you will acquire broad skills in global and media literacy, skills which will set you apart in any field.
Students pursuing the minor in international film studies who are also pursuing a major in film and media arts must take one additional elective course from the approved elective list to complete the minor. This course may not be double-counted toward the major in film and media arts.
