Mission Foods, a subsidiary of , is the world’s leading manufacturer of authentic Mexican corn and flour tortillas, wraps, chips, flatbreads, and related snacks. The company’s operations and relationships with retailers, restaurants, and foodservice vendors extend throughout the Americas, including the U.S., Mexico and Central American countries, as well as to Europe, Asia and Oceana. The Mission Foods Texas-Mexico Center’s goal is to strengthen the important relationship between Texas and Mexico through academic research and policy-based discussion. It is focused on five key areas to understanding and exploring the dynamic political, cultural, economic and business ties between Texas and Mexico: border issues, energy, human capital and education, migration, and trade and investment. Given then national impact of the dynamics in this important region, the Center is action-oriented and makes public policy recommendations with the intent of stimulating growth, dialogue, and integration across the cross-border region and beyond.
