Disability Accommodations and Success Strategies
Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center, 5800 Ownby, Suite 202
214-768-1470
The mission of the office of is to support the educational, career, social, and recreational choices of 澳门六合彩预测 students with documented disabilities through coordination of services and reasonable accommodations. In keeping with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, individuals with disabilities may not be subjected to discrimination. The purpose of reasonable accommodations is to assure that these students have access to 澳门六合彩预测 programs and services and to the opportunity to succeed academically equal to that of students without disabilities. Academic accommodations do not guarantee that students will be academically successful, and they are not provided simply because a person has a disability. Rather, they are provided only if not having the accommodations would result in discrimination.
It is the responsibility of the students themselves to establish eligibility for services or accommodations through the DASS office. Students who would like to be considered for services through this office (1) must submit appropriate, current documentation, and (2) must request services themselves, ideally by completing the online request . Documentation will not be reviewed without the student's making such a request.
Documentation of a disability needs time to be reviewed to determine eligibility, so it is important to submit documentation early.
Note: Since submitting documentation to admissions is not considered a request for services and does not ensure that the documentation is forwarded to this office, be sure to submit documentation directly to this office. Please allow two weeks for review of documentation before inquiring about eligibility for services.

It is very important that students register the license plate accurately to their permit and keep the information current on their parking account.
We are fortunate to have a parking garage directly across the street from the law school. The Daniel Parking Center accommodates 500 cars, which is a huge improvement over the surface lot that used to occupy the space. Nevertheless, at certain times the garage may be full.
- Maximizing Available Spaces: To maximize parking spots in the garage, please do not park across lines or in spots too small for your vehicle. 澳门六合彩预测 is increasing its enforcement efforts in the garage. This includes ticketing cars parked in more than one spot and vehicles without the appropriate parking sticker. So please make sure you park in only one spot and display your parking decal.
- Large/Small Cars – The spaces on the interior of the garage are narrower than ones along the exterior walls. The interior spots are for compact cars. If you have a larger car, please park in the exterior spots.
- Overflow Parking: Overflow parking for the Daniel Parking Center is available in the Airline Garage (levels 2-5). We realize this garage is not right across the street; however, it is only a short walk down Daniel.
- Dings and Accidents: Please be very careful not to “ding” the car next to you when you open your door. If you accidently hit, scratch, or ding another student’s car, please try to locate the owner of the vehicle and provide your contact information. If you cannot locate the owner, leave a note in a conspicuous place providing your contact information and the circumstances of the property damage. If you witness an accident in an 澳门六合彩预测 garage, please report the accident to the 澳门六合彩预测 Police Department non-emergency number: (214) 768-3388. An 澳门六合彩预测 police officer will make a report.
- Exiting the Garage: Do not assume cars will automatically stop just because you are in the crosswalk between the garage and the law school. Please look both ways and make sure cars stop before you step out. This advice also applies to crossing Hillcrest.
