Facilities
Students find room to move and grow in three dance studios and a broad palette of stages.
All Studios feature sprung floors, state-of-the-art sound and HD video systems and wide-screen projectors. Classes feature live musical accompaniment and are equipped with grand pianos and percussion instruments. All classes are taught by an outstanding faculty of veteran dance professionals.
Studios come in every size and give the student the opportunity to learn in various environments. The long and lean “bowling alley” (Studio B120) is an intimate space where students can zero in on their technique. The Charles S. Sharp Studio is both a rehearsal and performance space, complete with theatrical lighting and a state-of-the-art sound system, and is the site of the annual senior Sharp Show, always a packed performance. And the spacious, experimental space of the mirrorless Studio 1430 offers an unencumbered environment where, under the free-moving, Calder-style mobile hanging from the same grid used to “fly” dancers across the floor, dancers unleash their inner creativity.
All students have the opportunity to dance on the grand proscenium stage of the 392-seat Bob Hope Theatre, complete with orchestra pit, and in the Bob Hope Lobby, site of the hugely successful, standing-room-only, student-choreographed “Brown Bag” series and more.
In addition to campus facilities, students also have opportunities to dance in professional Dallas arts district venues such as the fabulous , , and the new .
