°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Meadows journalism students won multiple awards at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA) competition in late March.

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Look, the fashion, beauty and lifestyle magazine written and produced by students in the Journalism/Fashion Media program, won first place awards for overall magazine excellence and overall design. An °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â Daily Campus series titled “Gentrification Across Dallas” won first place for in-depth reporting.

Founded in 1909, TIPA represents student media – newspapers, magazines, yearbooks, radio, television and online – at two-year and four-year colleges and universities throughout Texas. It is one of the nation’s largest and most respected collegiate press associations.

“This is a great showing for our student media operation, and we are extremely proud of the students and faculty involved,” said Division of Journalism Chair Tony Pederson. “Producing excellent journalism across multiple platforms is the goal of the division, and these results show the success of the commitment being made by students and faculty.”
