2025 Gibbs Family Perkins Public Life Personal Faith Scholarship Luncheon
We are pleased to announce that Ms. Cynt Marshall will be our featured speaker for the 2025 Gibbs Family Perkins PLPF Scholarship Luncheon, being held Monday, March 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Ms. Marshall served as the first Black Female CEO of an NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks.
She recently announced her retirement effective December 2024 as CEO and has been a dynamic force for inclusion and diversity within the Mavericks organization since she was hired in March of 2018. She also enjoyed a 36-year career at AT&T where she held numerous leadership roles, including serving as President of AT&T North Carolina where she became the first African American chair of the North Carolina State Chamber of Commerce.
Cynt’s legacy as CEO of the Dallas Mavericks is one of transformation, both within the organization and throughout the community. Her leadership, grounded in authenticity and a commitment to building a better and more profitable future for the organization, has set a new standard for corporate responsibility and community engagement in professional sports. She is recognized for her leadership and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Executive Leadership Council Achievement Award (2024), Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum "Hope for Humanity" Award (2022), and Fortune's Most Powerful Women in Business (2022).
The Perkins Scholarship Luncheon, inaugurated in 2010, is a fundraising and outreach event of Perkins School of Theology. This event serves as a major fundraiser for student scholarships at Perkins. Tables and seating are available at four giving levels. We are honored to have Mr. and Mrs. James Gibbs as our major supporters for the Spring 2025 luncheon.
