    Responsibilities

    •    Complete MinistrySafe training.
    •    Recruit, train, equip, develop, schedule, and empower volunteers in accordance with MinistrySafe guidelines.
    •    Monitor class size as related to the classroom space and number of adult volunteers to comply with MinistrySafe standards.
    •    Serve as the youth ministry liaison for worship service participation and involvement.
    •    Communication and publicize all youth programs.
    •    Oversee the teaching programs for Youth Sunday School on Sunday mornings and Youth Group on Sunday nights.
    •    Implement a program for ongoing youth small groups. Example: Wednesday night Bible study, gatherings at different youth family homes for devotions and fun activities during the summer.
    •    Turn in the attendance of the Youth Sunday School class and Youth Group to the office weekly.
    •    Assist with the development and maintenance of yearly Youth Ministry budget.
    •    Work with the Youth Council to create and maintain annual calendar of activities including mission outings, trips, fun outings, and other youth fellowship gatherings.
    •    Plan, lead and coordinate all mission trips (secure proper chaperones)
    •    Prioritize the overall safety of our young people through responsible action. If you are transporting the young people of the church as a driver, no cell phone use while driving, hands free calling, texting or navigation.

    Qualification Requirements

    •    Bachelor degree preferred and some experience working with youth in a church or school setting.
    •    Biblically grounded in their faith as a follower of Jesus Christ.
    •     Ability to help volunteers across generations find ways to use their spiritual gifts with young people.

    High School graduate and professional experience working with children in a church or school setting.

    Cares deeply for mentoring children's spiritual journeys.

    Job Summary


    The director of children, youth, and families oversees all areas of the children’s and
    youth ministries at UBC. They are responsible for maintaining welcoming, safe, and
    engaging opportunities for connection and spiritual formation throughout the year.


    Essential Functions:
    鈼 Oversees all Sunday morning programming for children and youth (infants
    through 12th grade), selecting Sunday School curriculum (in collaboration with
    Sunday School teachers and the Spiritual Formation Director), teaching as
    needed, providing necessary resources for other leaders, and ensuring a safe and
    effective drop-off and pick-up process.
    鈼 Facilitates children and youth integration in worship by leading the children’s
    moment each Sunday, maintaining and updating children’s worship bags and
    children’s area in sanctuary each week, sitting with the youth group and helping
    manage the transition of young children to the Kid’s Place during worship.
    鈼 Coordinates additional events for children and youth during the school year,
