About
Dr. Ener earned her Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and her Ph.D in Counseling from the University of North Texas with a specialty in play therapy. She has extensive experience and interest in psychoeducational assessment, grief and loss counseling, play and activity therapy, and research methods. She previously served as an assistant director in an on-campus community counseling clinic for over three years, during which time she supervised a child appraisal interdisciplinary team of doctoral level counseling students.
Dr. Ener currently works as the Clinical Therapist at the Rees-Jones Center for Foster Care Excellence at Children's Hospital in Plano, where she provides evaluation and counseling services to children who are in the custody of Child Protective Services as well as behavioral health support to their caregivers. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â and the University of North Texas. She has demonstrated her commitment to service by serving in a number of leadership roles across professional counseling organizations. Dr. Ener has additionally presented at numerous local, state, and national conferences, and has published in academic journals and books.
