About

Dr. Mikael Lövkvist, Ph.D. has worked in the field of psychological health since 1998. He has extensive experience in working with patients suffering from depression, anxiety, psychosis, grief, addiction, and psychological trauma.

Dr. Lövkvist earned his B.Ed. at the University of South Australia, after which he taught at Swedish elementary, middle and high schools, and as a visiting instructor at Lund University.

He later earned his M.A. in Dance Movement Therapy at the University of California, Los Angeles, and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

His doctoral dissertation project studied psychotherapists’ and clients’ somatic experiences of empathic resonance, as well as the nonverbal dynamics associated with these experiences.

Dr. Lövkvist currently offers counseling psychotherapy in Private Practice. He also works as a Licensed Professional Counselor at the Texoma Medical Center BHC.
