About

Dr. Nicole Van Ness is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Approved Supervisor in Texas and California. She received both her Master of Arts and Doctor of Psychology degrees in Couple and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. She moved to North Texas in 2015 for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position at Texas Woman's University, and liked Texas so much that she decided to stay. Dr. Van Ness has 6 years of graduate level teaching experience, and 9 years of clinical experience in non-profit, school-based, public agency, and private practice settings, working with individuals, couples, and families from many different backgrounds. Her research has focused on sexual health, intimacy, eroticism, spirituality, and trauma.

Clinically, she specializes in sexuality. She divides her time between teaching, couples therapy private practice, and the Center for Survivors of Torture, a non-profit agency serving refugees.
