2017 Research-to-Practice Conference
- I'm still quoting things the presenters said during school meetings, training and to parents. The RME Conference was the most valuable training I have been to.
- Mathematics instruction is only as informative as the teacher is knowledgeable. The more information I obtain, the greater the benefit is for the students. I wish to be the best possible for my students and my personal growth.
- Last year was my first time attending the conference and I feel it empowered me to become a better educator.
- Each year I learn about current research and enjoy visiting with practitioners. Each year that I have attended, I leave with research, best practices, and inspiration that motivates me.

Breakout 1 – (Grades 6-8) This is a hands-on session designed to help teachers investigate the impact of strategically presenting mathematics and building the relationship between concrete models and tabular representations. Participants will experience activities created to support students conceptual understanding of fraction operations, equivalence, and decimal-fraction relationships. Breakout 2 – (Grades 3-5) Conceptual Understanding is built by comparing and contrasting various representations of an idea. In this session, participants will work through a purposeful sequence of questions about fractions that encourages students to compare and contrast multiple representations of their thinking and leads to conceptual understanding upon which they can build number sense and procedural fluency.
