Ph.D., Columbia UniversityStefano Recchia holds the John G. Tower Distinguished Chair in International Politics and National Security at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â. He also directs the program in national security at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â’s Tower Center for Public Policy and International Affairs. Previously, he was a tenured faculty member at the University of Cambridge, UK. Professor Recchia holds a Ph.D. in political science from Columbia University (with distinction) and a master’s in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has been awarded numerous grants and fellowships, including from the Brookings Institution, Fulbright Commission, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Rotary Foundation, European Commission, and Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme.
Professor Recchia’s research and teaching interests revolve around U.S. security policy and transatlantic relations, the politics and ethics of military intervention, and multilateral cooperation in international security affairs. He is the author of Reassuring the Reluctant Warriors: U.S. Civil-Military Relations and Multilateral Intervention (Cornell Studies in Security Affairs, 2015). In addition, his research has appeared in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Ethics & International Affairs, International Theory, the Journal of Strategic Studies, Security Studies, and theReview of International Studies.
