Professor DuPont specializes in 19th- and early 20th-century Peninsular Literature and Culture with an emphasis on feminism and theology. Her current research focuses on Spanish literary history, the role of the church in Spanish culture, the women's movement in Spain, and the renaissance of interest in spirituality and mysticism, all at the turn of the twentieth century. 

Denise DuPont es estadounidense, con doctorado de Yale University (1993), y es catedrática de literatura y cultura españolas en °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â en Dallas, Texas (USA). Ha hecho un Máster en Estudios Teológicos (Perkins, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÔ¤²â, 2017), y ha publicado tres libros: Realism as Resistance: Romanticism and Authorship in Galdós, Clarín, and Baroja (Bucknell University Press, 2006), Writing Teresa: The Saint from Ávila at the fin-de-siglo (Bucknell University Press, 2012) y Whole Faith: The Catholic Ideal of Emilia Pardo Bazán (Catholic University of America Press, 2018). Su investigación actual se centra en la teología, la mística, el feminismo, la santidad en la Edad de Plata (1898-1936) y las redes de mujeres religiosas y laicas que lideraron la revolución mística internacional de esa época. Como profesora universitaria, ha impartido cursos de literatura y teología de todos los niveles (licenciatura y posgrado) y le encanta trabajar con diversos grupos de estudiantes. Su marido, Jesús Soto Hernández es de Soria, España, y también es profesor. Tienen en total cinco hijos, ya mayores todos, que viven algunos en Estados Unidos, algunos en España.
