Research Interests:
Lucas studies crime and its relationship with the labor market. He also is interested in the economic impacts of natural disasters and in research that involves causal inference methods.
Lucas earned a B.A. in economic sciences in 2016 from Santa Catarina State University and an M.A. in economics in 2022 from the Federal University of Pernambuco, both in Brazil. His prior research has included investigations in economic growth as well as in the relationship between natural disasters and poverty. In his free time, Lucas enjoys gaming, hiking and puzzles. He plans to go skydiving someday.
