Teaching and Technology Center

The World Languages and Literatures Teaching and Technology Center, inaugurated on September 20, 1965, has evolved from a Foreign Language Laboratory with reel-to-reel machines and record players into a technology center with Mac and PC computers, projectors, and region-free DVD players. In addition to a conference room (Clements 228), the center provides a comfortable space for students and classes to screen films from all regions of the world, take placement and proficiency exams, hold class meetings, lectures, and brown bag sessions, and read and study. Over 2000 student visits to the Teaching and Technology Center are recorded each semester.

The Teaching and Technology Center can be reserved for World Languages & Literature faculty, courses, and individual student use. Faculty can also borrow equipment for classroom use, including external drives, laptops, and webcams. The center also offers an exam proctoring service for students in World Languages & Literatures courses who need to make up exams, quizzes, or compositions, or have DASS accommodations.
